Hi!
It is the last post of 2018! I rarely have the willpower to follow through on ideas I have, preferring to take the easy route and keep the status quo. So, starting this newsletter and sustaining it for the year has been challenging but also rewarding for me. A huge thank you to all of you who have been so supportive to give me that valuable bit of your personal inbox space to share my thoughts despite the barrage of information we all go through.
I hope this has been useful to all of you so far, and I welcome any feedback or advice on how I can make this even better for you. I am quite new to some of the skills needed in this project, such as design, digital marketing. Even writing, which is arguably my current job, feels very different when applied in this context. I intend to work on these even more next year.
To wrap up the year, rather than share a new article, here are my 3 favourite articles of 2018:
1. An Honest Guide to the San Francisco Startup Life - A really well written satire about working in a San Francisco tech start-up
2. Ask yourself these questions before you say yes or no to anything - Great, realistic advice on whether to accept or reject a new obligation.
3. Satisficing vs Maximising - How to combat the infinite choices we are faced with these days, and the paralysing fear of better options.
Looking forward to sharing and writing more in 2019!
Merry Christmas!
James
